A partner, a preparer, a lender, and a buyer are not the same sentence.
Start with the partnerThis is a composite, not a client. No name, no trade, and no figure beyond the two that the preparer sentence already names. Imagine the address line covered on each note.
The note says the card is a mess. The week in question has charges for the shop and charges for the house, same card, same statement. The check is that week, not the whole year. Each charge is marked company or household. The household ones come off the books. The company ones stay, with a receipt or a holding spot if the receipt is missing.
The tone of the comment can wait outside that week. When the week is sorted, you can see whether the comment was about the card or about something larger. Most of the time it was about the card.
The note says the books do not tie to the return. The check is two figures side by side. Retained earnings at the end of that filed year, and the net income on the return. If they differ, the difference is the work. We do not invent a third figure to force them together. We find the deposits that were never sales, the expenses that were really repayments, and the holding spots that were guessed into the profit.
The preparer may be right. You do not have to switch. Their address stays off the note you send us. The two figures are enough.
The note says the statements are not usable. Sometimes the letter wants a list that ties to the bank. Sometimes it wants a signature that assures the statements. We read the verb before we promise anything. A tie-out is a close we can do. An assuring signature is a product this practice does not sign, and the disclosures page says that in full.
Outstanding payments stay on the list. A payment that never left the bank is not cleared by wishing. The lender can read an honest list. A list with the gaps erased is how a later month blows up.
The note says the books will not survive a look. The check is one month a stranger can open. Bank deposit to profit, with owner money and transfers pulled out of sales. The other months wait. A speech does not answer the look. The month does.
If the month will not close because the paper is missing, we say so. We do not dress the month for the meeting.
One role is enough. If a second person also spoke, say so after the first check.
